This guide provides instructions for configuring your network settings and managing your data usage on Windows devices.
1. Mobile Internet (APN) Setup
If your data is not connecting, ensure your Access Point Name (APN) is configured as follows:
From the Home screen, scroll right and select Settings > Access Point.
Tap Add (+).
Enter Sure Internet as the Connection name.
Enter internet as the Access Point Name (APN).
Tap the Save icon, then tap OK.
Tap Sure Internet to activate it as your default network.
2. Text Messaging (SMS) Centre
If you cannot send or receive texts, ensure your message centre number is correct:
From the Home screen, scroll right and select Settings > applications > messaging.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
Ensure the SMS centre number is set to:
+447781 001 003Tap the Save icon.
3. Voicemail

Device Settings: You can also manage phone settings by navigating to Settings > applications > phone.
4. Managing Your Data Usage
To keep your data usage in check:
Prioritise Wi-Fi: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi whenever possible.
Data Sense: Go to Settings > applications > data sense to monitor usage, identify high-consuming apps, and restrict cellular data.
Background Tasks: Go to Settings > applications > background task to restrict which apps can update while not in use.
5. Roaming Safely
Data usage while abroad can be expensive. To avoid unexpected charges, we recommend the following:
Bar Data Roaming: Go to Settings > mobile network and toggle Data roaming options to Off. This stops data while abroad but keeps calls and texts active.
Disable Data Connection: For complete peace of mind, go to Settings > mobile network and toggle Data connection to Off.
Use Wi-Fi: Stick to Wi-Fi networks for internet access while travelling.
